I said in November 2003 that this short 16-page snippet was submitted to TokyoPop, to see whether they are interested in publishing it. I have the official word back from them now: they are NOT interested in publishing it, but they like my art, so they would like me to become a “back-up” artist for their original manga projects (if and when anything like that is happening).

So, that is that. I’ve since stopped drawing this manga, not least because I have heaps of other things to do, and I’m not going to work on this because it never was an original idea in the first place. It’s a good story, mind you, but as I said, it’s not purely of my own being. Nothing’s wrong with not being of my “own being” (here we go), but this story has indeed been told in other forms, and I want to be at least original if I’m going to devote 400 pages to a certain story. Therefore, this story has been shut down, though this will continue to remain here for everyone to look at.

If you want to see what happens next, you’ll have to migrate to the older version. Be warned: it has older art and uglier screentones.

Because this was a submission to a Western manga-publishing company, it reads from left-to-right, which can get confusing if you’re trying to jump from this to the older manga.
