Genre: Teen Comedy?
Status: Finished (2002)
Pages: 30 pages
Type: Short Story

This story was drawn in July and August, 2002, and is a 30-page comedy story that is about…two sisters and a dress. Strangely enough, I used to hate this story, despite being very nicely drawn and the first time I used proper screentone for effects. It was originally written for a manga competition held by a Taiwan manga anthology, which restricted the number of pages to 30. Which was what killed it for me, I suppose… back then, I was still struggling to get used to telling shorter stories. “Air+Space”, which was actually planned and drawn BEFORE this, showed my problems clearly - that story was too long, and so had some parts that was rushed while others was too drawn out. (I also drew this manga to the wrong dimensions, which is probably another problem.)

Needless to say, I didn’t win anything - though I learned a few lessons. This was the first manga competition I entered, and of all the things I could have done wrong - I drew it to the wrong dimensions?! Some good advice: READ the competition rules before you enter, and if you don’t understand something, ASK. Drawing to the wrong dimensions meant that I got disqualified immediately - which was such a shame. This story may not have won the competition, but it deserved better than that.

Because “TwinSide: Twins” was originally written for an Asian audience, it reads from right to left. However, the sound effects are in English this time round. There’s only a few of them too. Good for all of us.

This reads in the Japanese way, from right to left.
