Blood of Snow. Some blood, and alot of snow. I also amazed myself this time round by coming up with a title that doesn’t sound like complete and utter crap. In fact, the title suits the story quite well. As for the content, it should be clear outright that it’s a “samurai” piece. However, that doesn’t mean it’s a serious, Japanese samurai drama. “Blood of Snow” is to traditional samurai drama as video games are to real life. The latter is more believable, but the former is more fun. This story takes itself seriously enough, so readers should just take it as what it appears to be.

I often have trouble labelling what genre my stories fall into on the title page, but this time, “Samurai Blood Opera” describes what this is perfectly (especially the “opera” part). First of all, while there is some graphic violence in it, it isn’t the point of the story. The violence is there because it’s necessary to tell the story - after all, what would be the point of drawing samurai-esque characters with Japanese swords if no one’s going to get hacked up? I guess I just woke up one day and decided there wasn’t enough violence on this site.

However, I should warn gore-fans that while there is about, uh, two instances of graphic violence planned, it’s not all that gory. Battle Royale this isn’t. This story rates a V for Violence, but that’s only because I don’t want people to complain that they have become traumatised for life because they accidently stumbled upon said graphic violence. If you’re looking for good ol’-fashioned gore, I suggest you look elsewhere.

This reads in the Western way, from left to right.
